Has anyone ever made a Turducen? chicken inside a duck inside a Turkey

They sound great - does anyone have experience with this did you make it yourself or bought it pre-pared?

  • yep.. we had it last year for christmas diner... we ordered it from the original place that made them in new orleans.. stuffed with seafood jambalaya .. it was heaven!

  • I've heard lots of good things about it, but haven't actually tried it. Would love to give it a shot someday though! Good luck if you're going to make one yourself!

  • I didn't like it. I thought all the meat tasted the same, and was a little dry. Also I missed the point of it all. It seems a little decadent to me like back in the days of the renaissance they used to stuff peacocks with live larks and sparrows. Just don't feel the love.

  • I suggest buying make it yourself you need to debone 3 birds that fit inside one another...I would leave it to the experts!

  • i want to try one, but i will defenitely say leave it to the experts, even ask a butcher to see if they do them because it is not an easy task to fit three birds inside one another.
