Serious question for Jewish people

If you dont have a serious answer, just move along.
This is not meant to be a debate, or I would have posted it there. And somehow I dont have a Jewish friends I can ask.
WHY is Jesus not the son of God? Are there prophesies that were not fulfilled? Is the the whole "born in a manger" thing not befitting a king?
And who WAS Jesus? a blastphemer? a prophet?
Thanks in advance.

  • Here is the best explanation: http://www.aish.com/jw/s/48892792.html

We do not believe that Jesus was the messiah and we are waiting for the messiah to come, not a return. He hasn't yet come. And to us he is not a prophet either. That would be Muslims who believe that he is a prophet.

  • Jews believe Jesus was more like a prophet. But not that Son of God. They are still waiting for the return of the Messiah.

  • We are not practicing Jews, but most of our family are.

You know how Christans think Buddha is someone else's religious figure and totally separate from their faith belief and don't really care about it that much?

    It's sort of like that.

I get that, but why is he not the Son of God? What will the return of the Messiah look like, if not Jesus?

  • I'm not Jewish, but this site gives some good comparisons of arguments for and against Jesus as the Messiah. There are other links at the bottom for further reading. Jews do not believe Jesus was the Messiah, because he didn't fulfill the requirements.

    Is the Jesus the Messiah?
