  • No. I really don't care who answers my questions. I'm looking for answers/advice. Not looking for names. Why does everyone get so bent outa shape over an anon answer or post?

  • Maybe, but then you wouldn't get the honest opinions people claim that they're looking for, because most people are not brave enough, or confident enough to express their true opinions and put their name behind them. Also, I think people don't want to be thought of as bitches, even though they are being "honest" (albeit sometimes mean).

  • Yes!

There may, sometimes, be good answers that will not be posted because, for whatever reason, the poster does not want to be identified; but if YOU are asking the question, YOU should have the option of risking missing those answers.

But more than that, too many times, anons are primarily responders who want to be mean, rude, or stir up trouble. The anon feature makes it easy for this bad behavior to prevail.

  • I'm on the fence about it. On the one hand, a lot of anons are annoying and just trolling. On the other hand, some people are too embarrassed or something to even show their screen name on a forum with a bunch of strangers.
