noodles: al dente or soft?

al dente for this italian girl. however, im bummed because i wasnt paying attention just now when cooking my ramen noodles and they are tooo soft :( boooo! i always cook to al dente though, i hate soft noodles! bleck!

  • Al dente for my Italian husband, but this Southern girl like 'em soft, so I take his out first and let mine cook a minute or two longer.

  • Depends on the type of noodle - homemade egg noodles I want soft. Pasta I want just cooked through (not hard at all in the middle, but not mushy either). I don't like anything with a hard core - yuck!

  • I'm in a tough spot. I like al dente but DH like mushy. Pasta night usually leaves one of us unsatisfied in terms of noodledge.

  • As long as it's not crunchy or hard at all I'm happy. Although I would rather it not be mushy either.
