  • I was 16 years old and had a 6 month old baby, my first. I spent $40 on nike air jordan for her. Now I have 3 other kids and have never bought any shoes for them until they started walking and never spent more than $10; using sales only or even second hand.

  • I never bought shoes for an infant. Why bother? Get cute shoe looking socks. I bought $38 walkers from Stride Rite when they were one.

  • As a little baby, maybe $20. When she was 2 we bought her some sketchers that set us back $40 though! Good news is that a year later they still fit. Thank goodness she is small.

  • I never bought expensive shoes for our little ones, they grew so fast and we had so many other expenses at that time.

  • I hate the idea of spending a ton on shoes he won't walk in for long. When he was learning to walk and loved trying, we were visiting with my husband during his training, my son lost his shoe when in his stroller. I had to go buy some from the exchange on base and the cheapest I could find were $35. Ugh.
