Do you let your pets eat human food?

I used to have cats that LOVED eating fruit. Their coats were beautiful!

  • Yes - my dogs are very particular though. Not just any human food will do. My husky likes pizza, ice cream, eggs & most meats. My mix pup likes meat, pasta figole and lasagna. They also get to eat the meat of steak bones (they can't have the bones because they get sick - weird, I know). They get fed dog food too!

  • No
I really don't need to smell the gas after my dog eats people food.

  • The dog eats leftovers sometimes, she is nursing 10 puppies so she needs all she can get.

  • I don't know about cats but letting dogs eat people food takes years off their lives. As human as we may think they are and act, their systems are very different and cannot tolerate all the junk we eat. If you have them stick to dog food and that's all they eat, then they won't know the difference.

  • Because my Lab has a tendency to be overweight, we've cut out almost all table scraps. They get occasional fat trimmings from steaks, and whatever our daughter happens to drop on the floor, but for the most part, they rarely get anything but their own food.

  • My dog will get the occasional Carrot stick but no not really. To much grease and fat in their diet can cause so many problems.

  • Our dog gets all the plate scrapings, bones, fat, etc (everything but chicken & turkey bones). There's nothing we keep back. She's healthy as a horse. She does eat plenty of regular dog food too.

  • Oh, and she doesn't live in the house, so I don't have to deal with gas or anything like that, she has her own poop area, etc.
