Does having genital herpes prevent blood or plasma donations?

  • I believe so, yes. They ask about any STDs that you have or have had in the past year and if any you can't donate.

  • I don't think so, but don't quote me... there's probably a list of restrictions on the Red Cross website. God knows they make you read that stuff every time you donate!
