  • wow.. how immature is it that someone would vote down a person for being honest about their beliefs and cultural traditions...are you going to vote me down because I am an italian american??

I wanted to open presents today but I am spending this holiday at my mothers house and her rules dictate waiting for Christmas morning. The way we do it is.. on the winter Solstice you get gifts from mommy and daddy.. and on Christmas Santa comes.

  • Not here. Haven't even wrapped yet.... and living at my parents house is not conducive to other faith practices

  • We do it like MamaJasmine.. Yule celebration with me & hubby, then a secular Christmas with grandma. I honestly don't even know why she does that. All she (MIL) does is stop by and give gifts; same thing could be done on Yule. There's no "Christianity" to it at all.

  • Does winter solstice mean it's the day we least see the sun of the year?? YEAH I'm so ready for the days to start getting longer again :)

  • We normally wait until the 28th. (Nothing like adding more presents from the after Christmsa sales. LOL)
