What is th ebest way to get musty smell out of clothing, it was in storage and I can only find one harsh cleaner, would like to use something less harsh????

  • Put the garment in the washing machine with a 1/2 cup of vinegar.

  • I wouldn't put more than 1 cup. Vinegar will deodorize just about anything. It's good for your dishwasher and garbage disposal/sink too.

  • let clothing soak in wash water with 1/2 cup baking soda, then 1/2 cup soda in rinse water. If that or vinegar doesn't work try Simple Green. I get it by the gallon at home depot. It cleans anything!

  • one more thing I forgot to tell you too put the vinegar in with the rinse cycle.

  • Vinegar helps get out the stubborn smells. I use when some of our smoking relatives give clothes as presents. I do two washings with it, and it gets it all out. Just use a cup of white vinegar.
