  • Why would I? I don't eat meat.

  • I hunt deer.

Answer by Jessica157 at 12:29 PM on Dec. 21, 2010

  • Yes. We are a hunting family and process our own deer. I grew up on a farm where we butchered our own hogs, cattle, and chickens.

  • Yeah we hunt... so elk, antelope, deer, or cows and goats, we can, and do, do it all :0)

  • Yes, i will slaughter my own meat. Last year we bought a 1/4 cow from a friend. They did most of the hard work, but i still had to slaughter a bunch of it.

I also kill & gut my own fish when we go fishing. I enjoy makes me feel like i am in touch with my food. This may sound lame, but i always say a prayer for the animals we eat. I am grateful to them.

  • No, I'm happy to pay someone else to do that.

  • Nope. No way. No how. Then again, I'm a vegetarian and will grow my own plant based food.

DH did actually take a class on chicken "preparation." He says he would totally do it. We are looking into creating a kosher chicken co-op with some families in our synagogue. I'll work on the scheduling and marketing. they get the messy work.

  • Personally, kind of. DH deer hunts and processes it himself - cuts the meat off, then I cut it how I want from there or grind it up. We send our beef & pork to the locker to get done though.

  • I never have and not sure if I could or not.

  • I used to live on a farm. We did this on a daily/weekly basis. So, yes, I would.
