  • I've made Indian ice cream when you pour warm maple syrup on snow and pick it up with a stick in a yummy sticky blob.

  • M mom used to do it all the time when I was growing up. I live in Alabama now, we never get enough to do that. I know my kids would love it though.

  • Yes. Since we only get enough snow to do that once every couple of years, it's always a special treat. My 3 year olds have yet to taste it, so I'm hoping for at least one good snow this winter.

  • Not really. I've lived my whole life in California...near the coast.

But as a kid, my mom made the mistake of telling us about how her mother would make snow ice cream for them. The next time she left us alone: we (my sib's and I) got ice cubes, crushed them up (our homemade snow), added evaporated milk and sugar, then refroze it. What a mess...

...but we happily ate it all. :-D
