Do your parents spend as much on your DH as they do on you for Christmas?

Mine do. My parents go crazy for Christmas and way overdo it. They act like we're all little kids or something. I've told them it's not necessary, but my parents and brother have already bought my husband like 12 things, one of which is a digital camcorder he wanted. And he gets a stocking, of course!

I jokingly asked my mom what she had bought me so far, and she said, "Nothing. All we've bought is stuff for your husband and brother. You'd better hope we have time to shop for you, or you're not getting anything for Christmas.", lol!

And my Grandma gave him $100. At the Christmas get-together with my side of the family, he got more stuff that I did!

(I KNOW Christmas is not all about gifts, and I truly do not care about what I "get". I'm just posting this in good fun). :)

  • I hope this doesn't sound tacky, asking about how people spend their money, lol.

  • No, but thats because hes not usually around when my dad is. If he was, it would probably be pretty even.

  • No, but my mom has a hard time shopping for my husband. Which is understandable - so do I. LOL

  • My mom always buys him stuff that I planned on buying, then I'm left with no ideas, lol. He always tries to steal them. :)

  • My dad has never gotten my husband a gift. He's gotten something for us to share (a camcorder). That's it. I usually don't even get a Christmas gift (maybe every few years and it's a Christmas/birthday gift since my birthday is a couple weeks before Christmas).
We don't buy gifts for adults so me and my husband don't exchange gifts anyway. The only gifts under the tree are for the kids. There isn't enough money for anything else.

  • They buy more for Nikki but I get lots of little things like olives and choclate covered cherries from my parents but they try to buy John something with deer on it. Every year so far has been something really nice.
