Cleaning out my kids room, Do you think this is wrong?

I have asked them several times to go through there clothes, and again it has been 3 weeks, so tonight, I am going through them, and recycling the ones I believe are not fitting them or they don't wear.....

Do you think that is cruel???? I am so tired of the mess, and they don't wear half the stuff anyway...

Ages: 8/11/14 girls.

  • Nothing wrong with it at all. You gave them plenty of time to do it themselves. They chose not to do it.

  • I think it is. My Mom use to do that to me and did happen to get rid of things she should not have. You need to say ok tonight we are going to go through your stuff and do it with them.

  • I don't see anything wrong with going thru their clothes. You asked them to do it and since they did not you have the right to 'downsize' the wardrobes. If they complain that something is missing then maybe they should have done the job themselves when you asked them to.

  • The 14 year old might be able to do this by herself. Especially if she has done it numerous times before. But the younger need your help and direction. It could be fun time together. You might find out a little about their fashion preferences.

  • Tried that they whine, they don't want to do it....

So, am I suppose to feel bad if they don't want to help, 3 weeks is plenty of time and I feel if you wanted it so bad you would have done it your self.....
