I am staring a daycare in my house, any tips re:marketing & getting the word out about our daycare?

we licensed by NYS to have up to 8 kids only 6 if babies are involved. we also live in an area that is saturated w/daycares, so we are looking a competitive, cutting edge

  • Set up a Merchant Circle account and a Care.com account. Do direct mail. Let up a Linkedin account, join a group for your local area and network.

  • Put an ad on Craiglist, it's free. If you are up against alot of competion, just check their prices. Then maybe try to go a little lower. Or maybe discounts for more than one child. Something to get you noticed. Good luck

  • Social media is key. But no the only key.
Twitter - Facebook - CL - Linkedin - (all company pages on those sites) offer discounts if they mention that they found you on one of those sites.

Find out full pricing info for the daycares within 5 miles of your home..... Beat their prices... Even offer to match any price of a competitor --- BUT only if they have written proof of the price (i.e. flyer, ad, current signed "contract" or whatever, etc.).

Also do some flyers, mail them out, or walk around and put them out. Maybe leave some in the baby section of your local store (they may not like that though, but is genius!)

See how much it costs to put ads into the mail.

Contact your local radio and tv stations, how much will it cost to make commercials!?

    Get creative!

  • I would put an ad up at your library and near by grocery stores. I know here you can do it for free. Make sure to have the tabs that they can pull off with your name and number on it. Also put ads up online. C
