what gets vaseline out of a chair?

long story short my son covered himself in vaseline and the chair he was sitting in.which just happened to be daddys recliner : / now there are what appears to be oil marks all over this chair! what gets this out?? i have a bisselle carpet cleaner (hand held one) would this help? my husbands going to be so pissed if this has ruined the chair. i seriously dont know what im going to do!! help!!!

  • Try putting baking soda on it to absorb the grease. let it sit, brush it off, and put more until all of the grease is gone. I don't know if that will get it out if there is a lot of vaseline on it, but if has worked for me with movie theater popcorn butter.

  • try calling the vaseline company, companies are supposed to be really good at helping you with situations like that. What is the fabric of the chair??
