What kinds of questions would you ask?

We are near to the end of paying child support what can we do to help prepare ourselves?
We don't want no surprises we want to end it with good terms and thats that :?

What do we ask the lawyer or what other documents do we have on hand other than the proof of child support payments. We don't want her to take us back for more money once we are done or closing with her just bc. :/

Thanks Ladies!!!

  • You should have on hand your most up-to-date order of support to prove that you are done. Good luck!

  • Doesn't it just end when the child has reached 18?

  • You both will receive a signed court order that child support has now ended.. or at least we did.

It's nothing ugly, but here's hoping he doesn't forget he still has a child...

  • if the child still lives with the mom and goes to college, you may have to still pay child support for a few more years. ask your lawyer

  • When my step daughter came off child support, all my husband had to do was call up Job and Family Services and tell them she had graduated. He had already gotten a letter from them in advance telling him their records indicated she was nearly graduation. For a couple of weeks more they still continued to take out child support while they were verifying she was indeed out of school and that he hadn't missed any prior payments. After they finished verifying all that, he got some money back. He didn't have to give any proof of payment because it was taken automatically out of his paycheck.
