Male nipples

Do you think there was ever a point for them? Like waaaaay back in the day do you think men used to lactate and breastfeed? Kind of like how male penguins/seahorses/etc take care of the young, do you think human males used to as well? It seems there's a purpose for every part of our body so it's just weird that they have pointless nipples.

  • no. the theory is that they form before the genitals form. before the genitals form the baby is considered neither male nor female.

  • They serve a purpose. They are an erogenous zone for men as well as women.

  • here's a question i would love answered though. women's nipples must be covered/censored, it's not her breasts, just the nipples. mens nipples look exactly the same but don't need to be covered/censored. on both they are a sexual stimulant organ and most times both are surrounded by a boob (everyone knows most men have boobs) there is no difference between the two. seems very sexist to me

  • while it is true that the baby's sex is determined at conception the organs of that sex do not form until much later and until then the baby is a neutral sex

  • i have seen a baby boy lactate and they say that it is pretty normal if they are being breastfed bc of the high levels of female hormone in breastmilk. so technically they CAN lactate, and they CAN get breast cancer bc they have breast tissue.

  • read "Why do men have nipples?" by Mark Leyner... it is true that men have nipples because they were formed before determined gender, but that book is hilarious. it has questions you would only ask your doctor after 3 martinis. LOL
