Knee pain not fixed by surgery??

Husband hurt in April - motorcycle crash.
Had surgery to fix right knee months ago. Has always still been in pain...
Had surgery yesterday to fix left knee. Came home in agony. Up all night swallowing pain pill after pill with no relief. Apparently doc went in to fix knee but there was nothing to fix. Doc is at USC - so he's trusted.

So will hubby be in pain for ever? He already does PT 3x's/week.

  • Pain pills aren't as effective as NSAID's (Tylenol, etc.) - once the swelling goes down he should get some relief. I hope he feels better soon!

  • my 3 year old has had 4 hip surgeries... and while she is not in constant pain any more (her last surgery was just over a year ago)... she has pain with weather changes, and doing certain activities... she will always have some pain, from arthritic pain to just joint pain... it's just how her life is going to be, and we have to find a way to manage it...
