my 9 yr old is always arguing but i am tired of telling her the same things again every day she also teses her little 4 yr old sister. she was very sensitive when she was younger but with every passing day she is becoming more careless. i dont want to scold her all the the time but her behaviour makes me do it all the time.

  • sounds like u need some type of discipline. such as taking away something she values if u have to tell her something more than once. (ex. cell phone, ipod, fave toy, gamesystem) then when she goes a day w/out u having to repeat yourself, give it back. i believe she is still young enough for time-outs or grounding. be constistant with ur punishment. and go ahead and treat ur younger kid the same. u dont wanna get to this point again with ur other kid. also, always explain why ur doing the punishment and what u expect out of her... oh and sit the kids down ahead of time and tell them there will be some changes with behavior and these will be the consequences. that way they have a heads up

  • Sit her down and have a talk with her. Let her know exactly what your expectaions for her are and what the consequences will be. Then stick to it. Also make sure to give her lots of praise when she does do the right thing.

  • Makes sure she gets enough one on one time with you and your SO. Sometimes kids go for the negative attention when they do not get enough positive attention. And praise her when she does things right. GL
