  • Gluten is a protein that is found in many grains, including wheat and barley and several others. Some people have a problem with gluten, where it irritates the lining of their intestines and so they are not able to absorb nutrients from food properly. "Gluten free" is like saying "sugar free". It is so that people who have a gluten intolerance know that this food does not have any gluten in it. Most baked items like bread, cookies, crackers etc have gluten, so people with this issue have to work really hard to find gluten free breads, cereals, etc.

  • Any product that does not contain gluten is gluten free. A diet devoid of gluten is a gluten-free diet. Gluten is problematic for many individuals so they must avoid it.
