  • It is due to his association with water and in hinduism, persons that have a specific depth of character and capability to fight off evil are represented with shades of blue. Hence the reasonings behind Krishna's blue skin

  • And it should be noted that Krishna is not depicted as blue in all representations but mostly those of him as a boy or child.

  • Simplified answer: Krishna is the Cosmos, he is enternal and serene. His is the personification of the Godhead who takes on all the sins of society, which  also contributes to his blue color. Krishna is also known as the dark and beautiful one.
