Anyone have a good dessert recipe using cherries? Other than pie. :)

I am bringing a dessert to one of the homes we will be visiting on Christmas day. I was given this large jar of cherries and can't think of a better way to use them. :) Any suggestions?

  • My favorite, Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake but it's pretty rich with sweetness. I'll try to find the recipe if you want to bake a cake. I'm sure there are other great desserts also.

  • You could always make a cherry cheesecake.

  • If had cherries, I would make this even though it is for plums. I have made it before and would definitely make it with cherries.

Or, I would just crush them up and heat them with a bit of sugar and serve them over vanilla ice cream. (Without the pits of course).

  • I made a dessert called Cherry Berries on a Cloud last year and it was a huge hit! It's a little time consuming and sweet, but everyone LOVED it. Here is the link for the recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cherry-Berries-on-a-Cloud/Detail.aspx
