We GET that you're "focused" on the economy Mr. President. Now what are you going to DO about it?!

TWO YEARS AGO: "Obama to put "renewed focus" on economy..."

ONE YEAR AGO: "Obama to focus hard on economy"...

TODAY: Obama pledges "singular focus" on economy...

Anyone else seeing a trend?!  Is the fact that Obama remains "focused" on the failing economy reassuring to his supporters, or do you feel, at this juncture, he's had enough "time" to settle into his presidency and now needs to start DOING something about it...you know by laying the GROUNDWORK that will actually pull this country out of it's perpetual nosedive?!

  • The time to start doing something was January 20, 2009. Period. Everything else... EVERYTHING else.. could have waited.

  • He has done some good in 2 yrs, and it would be better if it wasnt for the republicans fighting him tooth and nail.

Obama had a filibuster proof majority (i.e. supermajority) and didn't need Republicans for anything.  Republicans were powerless to stop his insane spending.  Some might argue that he has done far more damage in two years than Bush did in 8 and we will feel lasting effects from his term long after he is out of office.

  • Oh sure, first he focuses on ruining the country and and NOW he wants to focus on repairing it. I don't believe it. He and congress will throw a bunch of stuff out there that he knows
Republicans won't go for just so he can come back and say it's Republicans fault nothing is getting done.

  • I was never convinced that the 'stimulus' was going to do anything for the economy. The stimulus money our county got went to buy new tazers for the PD. I guess that might have worked out good wherever the tazers were made (probably China), but it didn't create any jobs in our community. I have seen wind turbine parts being brought in south of Galveston, but those weren't manufactured here either. I never believed that he had enough experience to do the job effectively and the only thing this information does is validate my original opinion.

  • It's ALL Bush's fault and Clinton is going to fix it… :o)

But seriously, uhmmm, FIRST AND FOREMOST, making things better would need to be ONE"s intention. If you do something and things don't go the way you expect them to, do you continue to keep making the same mistakes over and over? nope~~~

  • Progressives push for government control of everything that we consider an individuals choice. They never take it to the next level of what happens when power to mandate is concentrated in D.C. We are fortunate to have had glimpses of what is behind the curtain and most thinking people realize that this leopard will never change his spots. Watch him reiterate promises and do the opposite. He will double down with his labor cronies because he is incapable of doing anything else...it would be a rebuke of the dreams of his father. There is only one thing Marxist's like Obama want and that is power for the sake of power...they could care less for the little guy for he is only a means to an end. He counts on mental midgets like Anonymous to believe his lies just long enough to get re-elected.

  • But don't worry...in 2012, even if Obama doesn't get re-elected, guess what? they'll be ANOTHER democrat in office. No one trusts the republicans anymore, with their scare tactics, racism, sexism, homophobia and all-around disdain for anyone other than the interests of the middle-age white male. HA HA HA!! So keep on bitching...it's really amusing...

Wow!! Does that ever scream out STUPID!!!
