How do I get her to stop throwing food away?

My dd will throw her food away when she doesnt want it anymore and its starting to get irritating. Especially when she takes one bite out of something throws it away and wants more in 5 minutes.

  • She's almost 2. She sits at the table and its not dinners that she's throwing away just snacks like when i give her an apple or some crackers she'll eat a bite and toss it then want it again in 5 minutes

  • At first I would let her do it, but before she does just tell her if she does it she will not get ANYTHING until the next meal, and be put in time out. If she does it put her in time out when she asks for more don't give it to her and tell her though luck she threw it away now she's not allowed anything until the next meal. Or just give her half of whatever the snack may be that way she gets what she wants and if she wants more there is still some to go around.

  • We have the same problem with DD who is also 2. She will take one bite out of a banana she just had to have, then throws it in the trash

  • So cut up the apple. Give her only 1 slice, or half a slice, at a time. To keep it from getting brown, use a little orange or lemon juice. Crackers, or anything else that's multiple peices - only give her 1 or 2 at a time. Pretty simple. Don't give her more than a bite or two at a time.
