How Do They Get The Pork Fried Rice Yellow?

I tried making some and cooked it in sesame seed oil and it didn't turn it yellow like I thought it would. At our local chinese restaurant the rice is yellow, but doesn't have much flavor. Maybe the cook it with a little bullion in the water and that turns it yellow? I'll have to try that. Any thoughts?

  • But maybe they put a dash in the water that they steam the rice in, I'll have to try that.
