We bought my son a baby bearded dragon for Christmas...dragon is about 3 blocks away at my MIL house till tomorrow night...

Dh and I have researched about dragons for weeks now....feel like we know a good bit...I am sure there is much more to learn...

Dragon (no name is super cute...right now..b/c he is small...but I am worried I might not like him as much when he gets bigger....or will I just grow accustom to him?

My son is going to do cartwheels Christmas morning...cant wait to see his face... :)

  • My ex bf had a beardie. I was put off on it initially, but came to love the little guy. They're sweet lizards and I love the way they run, too funny!

  • Sorry lol, btw, make sure that he is handled daily. A large dragon that isn't handled can get pretty nasty! Good luck. Tell us how it goes!

  • He will be super happy at first, but he will probably get tired of it. So while he's still little handle him a bunch because YOU will end up taking care of baby-beardie when baby boy gets sick of him. Get comfortable with him while it's still small so you will be used to handling him when it comes time to clean his habitat out. Feed him, give him medicine, take him to the vet, etc.

  • My ex handled reptiles professionally and told me all reptiles carry salmonella. It's in their feces and urine. My son has an iguana. He is 4 feet long. We got him as a hatchling. He is so big, we had to go from a cage to giant habitat that costed $400. The same goes for dragons. They will need room because they grow quick! Oh yeah, I agree with bad girl, everyone feeds our iguana but his

  • Beardies CAN carry Salmonella...but it is much more rare b/c it is a desert animal...not around water alot.... :) One of the reasons we went with a dragon :)
