What kind of arrangement do you make for your kids when they are out of school for vacation if you have no family to help you?

Single, alone, no family or support, no help for the ex-husband but you need to go to work what do you do when your kids have vacation day or half days in school.

  • do you have a child at least age 12 or up? If you do then they are allowed to babysit themselfs and one other by law. I wish i could be of more help and i'm so sorry about you ex men need to help no matter the relationship between him and the mother of the children.
    I cant stand guys who wont try their best to help. Or do you have a friend who has a child 12 or up?

  • If your child/children are at least 5 years old, the Park and Rec Department in your city may have a program like they did when my kids were that age (it supports kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade) that only costs $20 to $30.00 per week. It is before and after school program usually. In the summer they either have it at the schools or at the Community Center. Check with your Parks and Rec Department and they can advise you. This was a God-send when I was a single mom trying to support two kids.

  • Discuss it with your employer, perhaps they will allow you to bring them in and they can stay in the lunch room or near you quitely. You may just have to take those days off and make arrangements to work extra hours other days if you have a neighbor that can watch them for a bit. Make friends with other classmate moms, they may want to help you out. Good luck.
