Obscenity Filter

Does anyone actually use this? I thought about turning it on just to check it out.

  • It would be even better if the filter replaced undesirable words with another word, like "SAILBOAT".

For instance: "I don't give a fucking shit what you think of what I'm typing. Eat a damn brick." becomes: "I don't give a SAILBOAT SAILBOAT what you think of what I'm typing. Eat a SAILBOAT brick".

  • I think some people should, like the ones who complain to people about obscenity, even when they click the TMI flag. They don't even comment on the original question, just say something about the language.

  • No. I am not offended by words. After all, that is all they are - words. They only have the power one gives them.

  • I always get confused when someone who uses it copies part of the question or another answer into their answer. I have to sit and try and figure out how my filter got turned on without me clicking it.

  • I don't, but there are a bunch of people who I wish would!!

  • I think it is ridiculous. I mean we are all adults and sometimes life is obscene. I just don't see the need for it.

So that is a no... I do not use it.

  • Me too! Does it just skip over the words or put something in its place I wonder?

Answer by butterflyblue19 at 12:51 PM on Dec. 24, 2010

  • Huh, I didn't even know there was one!
