Just because?

Just because you've dialated dose'nt mean you've had contractions does it? In a better way can you dialate without contractions? LOL! Thanks!

  • yes, you can dialate without having contractions. I was dialated to 3 with my first kid and I never had any contractions. My water broke and I still didn't have any. I didn't get any contractions until they induced me and put me on petocin.

  • braxton hicks contractions can start dilation.

and yes, if baby is in position, gravity alone can help with effacement and dilation.
