Nordic foods for an Asatru potluck suggestions?

I've been invited to an Asatru potluck for next weekend. Since they are a Norse group I was looking for a Nordic dish or dessert. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • All that comes to mind is lox or pickled herring, but my brain is practically in a turkey coma right now lol. Have fun at the potluck! Sounds fun.

  • I just made Norwegian Kringla for Christmas...delicious. I also made my grandma's waffles for Thanksgivng, also fabulous =) You could do swedish meatballs too...

  • I'd suggest a fyrstekake. It's also called royal cake. This looks about like my recipe (not enough room to type it all in here).  My filling is a little different, though - it has almond extract added and slightly different proportions.  Since it's the filling, if you wanted to add it, it probably wouldn't change anything - about 1/4 tsp.
