can free chlorine and bleach dye be harmful during pregnancy?

My friend wants to dye her hair but I think it might harm her baby. Would it do anything to the baby??

  • Avoiding it is safest.

If she insists, avoid the scalp, wear gloves, do it with windows open, etc.

  • The chemicals can't come in contact with the skin. Foils are okay because they keep the bleach/ dye off the scalp. Wear gloves. Stay in a well ventilated room.

  • I wouldn't take the risk, but that's just me.

  • You can color your hair until you are 6months. After that they prefer you not to. I dyed mine right at 5 1/2.

  • Just make sure the fumes don't get to her... so an open window or big room would be best!

  • You can color your hair during pregnancy, make sure it's in a well ventilated area. A concern about this is that sometimes, when you are pregnant, the hormones can affect whether or not your hair takes the color, and can affect whether or not the color comes out the color you want it to.
