teething question

I'm pretty sure my baby is teething. (He's really grumpy, and ussualy, he's really happy; he is also pulling on his ears, and wanting to naw (sp?) on everything. He is also drooling) Do I need to go to my ped. to double check?

FYI my ds is 7 months old going on 8

  • Sound like teething. I would just get some baby orajel, teething tablets, or cold teething ring to soothe him. GL

  • It might just be teething but if hes pulling on his ears he might have an ear infection.

  • Tylenol, motrin and teething tablets, they're a lifesaver.

  • If gnawing a cool teething ring (or the damp corner of a clean cloth, that has been frozen) doesn't soothe him, then you might check with your ped' just to be sure it isn't an ear infection (as suggested by Alta2008). Some babies just like to pull their (or your) ear when they are upset; but sometimes they pull because it hurts.

I would be cautious about meds. Use them only as a last resort. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the leading cause of liver disease.

    GL. :-)
