SUTURES: Cut/Broke Middle Finger

ER Doctor says to see regular doctor in 10 days to take out sutures.

That is it. Prescribed medication for pain and infection prevention. That is ALL. Did not say to take off bandage or any care instructions for the finger. Just take medications.

My question is: Is that the norm?

What have you experienced regarding sutures on Hand or finger/s?

  • Try avoid getting you hand wet as much as possible. The bandage may fall off but no biggy you can either replace it or just avoid getting your hand soaked as much as possible . There may be care instructions on the ER discharge papers

  • Thank you (mommy of two 388) for your prompt reply.

The ER discharge papers said NOTHING on them as for the care of the finger/sutures! Just instructions on taking meds as prescribed.

Happy Holidays to you and your family!
