How do you welcome someone into your home?

Do you offer drinks? Offer to take their coat? Offer food? Do you just have food out? Do you offer a seat?

  • Typically all of the above. I love to have people over. It would also depend how the close the person is. I have a few that would be comfortable enough that I know they will tell me when they would like something.

  • I offer to take their coat. Once we are past the foyer, I offer a drink and a seat. If I have invited them over and I know they are going to stay a while, I usually have food prepared.

  • Honestly, it depends. What you mention is very formal and would be reserved for someone who doesn't visit much or has never visited before. It's a lot more casual for someone who visits more often.
