  • If she won't share a toy, the toy gets a time out.

  • is it like her favorite toy? or is it just in general?

if it is something that is a favorite-I would not make her share. If it is jsut overall being a pain and not sharing then I would either get a timer- or tell her if she can't share it then she can't play with it either and put it up for awhile

  • Just be patient and have talks regularly. Kids at that age still don't totally grasp the concept of sharing and that they will get their things BACK when the other children are done.

  • Model the behavior. My son is not made to share his fav toy, "blue dog" b/c it is a comfort to him and it has been with him since birth. But he will share it and shares all his toys. We have always modeled the behavior and talked to him about it as well.

  • I think you need to explain the reasons why sharing can be good depending upon what is being shared.

  • Is it something she is playing with? A favorite toy? Is it all her toys?

  • Who is she supposed to share with? If she invites a friend over, she should share. If it's a sibling, she should share. If she's not sharing, she doesn't need to play with people.
