At what age do you go from toddler (crib mattress) to twin bed?

My daughter and 5 yr old grandson live with us. She wants to move him to a twin size bed. Is this too young yet or am I being old fashioned. He seems fine in his toddler bed.

  • My son pretty much went from a crib to a twin bed. He was in a toddler bed for about a month and then he moved to a twin bed. The toddler bed broke and it was cheaper to get a twin so that is what I did. He has done fine with it. He was about 20 months.

  • My son would not sleep in a toddler bed. So we moved him to a twin when he was almost 2.
