Can someone help me understand cake sizes/prices?

I know there is sheet cake and round cake and cupcakes but do i get a half sheet or full to feed 10 kids plus adult? And does anyone know the prices like from walmart bakery or reasors bakery? Trying to get the cheapest deal. My sons bday party is saturday and we are wanting mickey mouse themed cake.

  • Half a sheet will be more than enough. Hy vees prices are usually pretty reasonable and they have a book full of different themes, so you should be able to find Mickey there.

  • A half sheet should be more than plenty. As for prices, I think it might vary by area. I would call and ask.

  • * 1/4 Sheet Cake, 9″ x 12″, serves 12-28
    * 1/2 Sheet Cake, 11″ x 15″, serves 18-40
    * Full Sheet Cake, 18″ x 24″, serves 48-108
    DON:T GET A FULL SHEET CAKE! You will regret it forever. I would personally go with the 1/4 sheet. It is basically a 9x13" pan and can be be cut into smaller pieces for the kids.

  • Oh and as far as pricing, I would expect to pay between 20 and 30 dollars for the cake.

  • Check with your local grocery stores - one of mine has "cake day" where if you order it on that day, it's $3 off. I usually have paid around $20 for my kids cakes.
