If new year resolutions are so important why wait until the new year?

Like I am going start a diet for new years but I needed all year! Why not just do it? I wish I had the answer for myself!

  • Good question. I look at it this way. A New Year, a new start. I'm able to enjoy the Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, just like I enjoyed the Easter one this year. I'll be able to track it better when it starts on JANUARY 1, and not August 23. With a new year comes new things. You want to make that year better than the last. GL with your diet. I'll be starting mine too. :)

  • My resolution has always been weight loss, and I work on it all year. I start thinking about my new resolution in December (and its weight loss again!) and get motivated.

  • I think it's a ritualistic aspect. New year, new life... I made my resolutions back in November and I figured anything I did between then and January 1st was just "practice" and a good way to get a head start!
