wanting some new recipes for picky eaters..

In our family there are a LOT of picky eaters.. and I'm wondering what some good recipes would be to change up some of the boring recipes that we've exhausted! Most of us won't eat onions, I won't make anything from a pig, but most other meats are fine.. sea food is out because of allergies. Basically we are meat (chicken, turkey, beef) and potatoes type of people, with veggies as a side dish. But we also like pasta dishes as well.

  • Beef Pie Homesteader
    Kids will love it - and adults too (who doesn't love those Pillsbury crescent rolls?). It is very filling, serve it with a lettuce salad, and you'll be set.
    1 pound ground beef
    1 can (5 1/2 oz.) tomato paste
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    Dash of pepper
    1 can (8 oz.) Pillsbury crescent rolls
    6 process cheese slices
    In a medium frying pan brown the ground beef and cook until tender. Drain off fat. Stir in tomato paste and seasonings.Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan. Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles. Place in the pie pan, pressing the triangles together, to form a crust. Fill with half of the meat mixture. Top with 3 cheese slices, then the rest of the meat. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.

  • soups..we have a different one every week. I buy a bunch of stock and thenmix it up with different meats, veggies, and either noodles or rice! Yummy!

  • Skillet Beef & Noodles

    1 lb. lean ground beef
    2 Tablespoons oil
    1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
    1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, cut in cubes
    1 1/2 cups noodles, cooked
    Cook noodles as package directs. Brown hamburger. Add Worcestershire sauce and cook 5-10 minutes. Add tomato sauce. Cook 10 minutes. Turn down heat. Add cream cheese and cooked, drained noodles. Stir until cheese is well blended.

  • Garlic Chicken Broccoli Pasta


    (you can adjust to how many servings you need)
    Pasta (I use spaghetti)
    Chicken Breast
    Cooked Broccoli (I use Steamed so it still has some crunch
    Pampered Chef Garlic Peppercorn Rub
    McCormick's Lemon Pepper
    Garlic Cloves
    Butter

    ~ Cook Pasta according to box directions
    ~Cube and cook Chicken in skillet with Peppercorn Rub and EVOO
    ~Add Pressed Garlic (to taste) shortly before Chicken finishes cooking
    ~add small amount of water to chicken pan to deglaze bottom of pan (scrape bottom with wooden spoon)
    ~ Drain pasta and mix in butter and Broccoli
    ~Add pasta Broccoli mix to skillet stir together
    ~ Add Lemon Pepper to taste

  • I serve this it over broccoli (and I make double the sauce).
    Pasta and Tofu with Finger-Licking Peanut Sauce
    1/2 cup low or no sodium vegetable broth
    1/4 cup chunky peanut butter (I use smooth)
    1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    2 teaspoons grated peeled fresh ginger
    2 teaspoons chile paste with garlic (add to taste, it is pretty spicey)
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    8 ounces uncooked whole wheat angel hair
    1 pound firm tofu, drained and cubed (optional)
    1 cup (2-inch) sliced green onions
    1 cup shredded carrot

  • Combine first 8 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently (this can also be done in the microwave; use a tempered glass bowl, like pyrex, cook for 20 seconds, stir, repeat until smooth). Remove from heat. Cook pasta in boiling water 8 minutes, omitting salt and fat. Add tofu, onions, and carrot; drain. Place pasta mixture in a large bowl. Add peanut butter mixture; toss gently.
