Are you a Time Warner Cable customer in one of these markets?

They are:

Tampa, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Raleigh-Durham, Nashville, Columbis, Cinncinnati, Asheville/Greenville/Spartanburg, San Antonio, Birmingham/Tuscaloosa, OK City, Greensboro/Winston-Salem, Buffalo, Richmond, Mobile/Pensacola, Dayton, Lexington, Huntington/Charleston, Flint/Saginaw/Bay City, Des Moines, Portland ME, Paducah/Cape Girardeau, Syracuse, Champaign/Springfield/Decatur, Madison, Cedar Rapids, Charleston, Tallahassee, and Peoria.

If so.... as of midnight Friday, you will be losing the Sinclair-owned stations in your market. These are primarily FOX, CW and "My" stations in each market. Sinclair also owns a couple of ABC stations across the country.

The reason: A dispute between Sinclair and TWC over retransmission fees. The latest proposal from Sinclair would raise TWC subscribers' fees by ten cents per month. TWC rejected this.

So... is 10 cents a month more too much to get Glee, American Idol and Smallville on your screen? Not to mention any local newscasts that these stations may carry?

Oh.... and let's not forget the SUPER BOWL!

  • We use cable one, but I wouldn't care if we missed the superbowl, the commericals are the only good part, and we can watch those online.

  • LOL yep, Friday night we lose FOX as we are with Time Warner.....but DH works for Time Warner and we get cable (and all movie channels) and internet for I can't complain. He used to work for Fios, and may go back, but it's not available where we are, and we hate dish!

  • Sorry about your channel loss. I have crappy comcast that doesn't offer anyghing except infomercials between midnight and 8 am.

  • Nope. I don't think 10 cents is too much to pay, but then again I don't watch enough tv to make it worth it. I am actually thinking of doing away with it all together.

  • Apparently not in our market ... but then again ... we don't have TV, so it wouldn't affect us if it was.

  • I'm in St. Louis, but we use Dish Network. They already had this fight.
