Does a celebrities actions off screen change the way or what you watch on tv or if you go to a movie?

Sometimes yes for me. If they get really vocal politically or say some off the cuff comment about religion or something like that I have a hard time looking past it to be entertained.

  • Sometimes, yes. Generally I seperate their personal behavior off screen from their on screen job. Seeing as them as a celebrity is only through their body of work, not through who they are off camera. However, some people I have disliked greatly due to their behavior and personality off screen.

  • I could care less what kind of a person they are. I'm sure most actors/actresses/etc. are craptacular people.

  • I guess sometimes, though usually I don't remember any interviews, etc. I've seen with celebrities. I doubt I'll go to another Mel Gibson or Tom Cruise movie for a long, long time, though.

  • no on screen is all about acting and they are only human and able to make mistakes in life too.... if someone was to think that a celebrity is the same as the are on screen then that is a fantasy land for them..

  • O I refuse to have Chris Brown playing in my car, house, etc

  • Yes! I cannot stomach Oprah Winfrey anymore. Or Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Barbara Streisand, or Tom Cruise. Or any other left wing loon who uses their celebrity to further their cause.

  • it depends on what they said/did and how they reacted to getting caught. i dont like what Tom Cruise has said about my field (Psychology) but i'll still see a movie w/ him in it b/c he's just saying his beliefs. but when a celeb is a bigot, dog-fighter, or abuser (child, SO, or consistent drugs/alcohol) its really hard for me to watch/listen to them and not remember what they've done.

Answer by okmanders at 8:15 PM on Dec. 28, 2010

  • Nope ... their job is to entertain me and that's what I pay attention to. I don't really care what their personal opinions are or who they are sleeping with or if they are drunks or drug addicts.
