Glutin free is not.....

Wheat free, carb free? I ask because I see it all over the stores. I am diabetic and was looking for carb free choices in foods.

  • Gluten free just means it doesn't have any wheat, rye, barley, spelt, or oats (or any derivatives thereof) in its formulation. Those grains all contain gluten. Gluten free can contain corn or rice, both of which ARE carbohydrates.

  • gluten free is just wheat free there could still be carbs in it... a lot of the foods that are labeled gluten free have a Glycemic Index on them
