Take a double stroller. It is a huge help. But you can't bring it on the plain. You can push the children with the stroller to the stairs but they will put the stroller in the luggage area. You have to talk to the people when you check in that you have two kids and you will need help. They are usually really helpful with parents and children. Actually I would call the airline up and ask their advice to travel whith two children and a double stroller. It can't hurt. Every airline has its own rules. So it is safer to call them up and ask. You can check if the stroller is another luggage so you have to pay a bit more or it is free. I would definitely call them up. We can tell you things but they can tell you facts.

I traveled from Delaware to Washington state with my 2 year old back in April. I took my stroller and I'm really glad I did. I could strap my kid in when we were try to run to our next flight, and I didn't have to worry about him running off or getting lost in the airport crowd. And if your in the airport and your kids get tired they can sleep. Also you can just stick your bags under the stroller and not kill your arms or shoulders lugging bags all over the place. Let the airline know that you will be gate checking the stroller and then tell the people at the gate when you arrive, they will give you a little ticket to put on the stroller. If you can pack light and get away with just a diaper bag then power to ya. Good luck on your travels.
