i'm 36 weeks pregnant... is it true that the drs usually tell a pregnant woman to take a couple spoonful of karo suryup when they are near there due date to get the baby to start coming

  • Nope, the baby's going to come when the baby is ready to come... it's pretty much a waiting game.

  • not that i ever heard karo syrup is good for constipation though maybe why it was suggested as that is a problem later in pregnancy.?

  • No. Castor oil is more common for trying to kick-start labor (same principle, but stronger laxative), but doctors generally recommend NOT to do those things. Baby will come when it's time, and there's nothing you can do to make it happen sooner, and trying something like this will likely just make you even more uncomfortable than you already are.

  • NO CASTOR OIl it can cause placenta previa and is very dangerous. My sister in law took some and the dr about freaked out.!

  • Why don't you just let it come when it is ready? Trying to force start labor is never a good thing. My mom's OB did that with her when she was pregnant with me and I have a bad case of jaundice!
