toy drives

i want to donate some of my ds old toys, stuffed animals and such for needy children this christmas but cant find any info on used toy donations. where can i go to drop them off? churches? hospitals? toys for tots is for new toys. i need something for fairly new toys. thanks in advance.

  • Call around to some of your local churches. A lot of them have basement (or even separate building) thrift stores or donation centers for the needy. Also, your loal women's shelter would probably be happy to take them, too.

  • actually most toy drives are for new toys only, not used.

    You can donate them to the Good Will though. A lot of parents are too embarrassed to go through the toy drives like toys for tots and shop at good will instead.

  • Look in the neighborhood around you and advertise that you have slightly used toys in brand new like condition,maybe someone in your neighborhood is tight on a budget this christmas and could use a bargain put up some signs or something and a bulletin in your local store! Make it a bargain though for someone.
