my 3 daughters got american girl doll babies for Christmas.............

they each got a bitty baby.. which are the cheapest, thank God, because you can actually play with these... my daughters are 1, 3, and 5 yrs old. they were from some lady who goes to my MIL's church! Ive never even met her..

I feel so strange with my kids carrying around 50 dollar baby dolls and they are so little! lol!! should i set them on a wall, or just let them play with them? they are more drawn to the babies they got that make noises, eat, and poop.. lol.. so im not very sure what to do w/ these things.

  • Dolls are meant to be played with. I don't think the giver meant for you to sit them up out of reach. I feel she meant for them to bring pleasure to your kids.

  • If your kids don't want to play with them, put them up. I agree a $50 doll hardly seems like a plaything for kids that young.

  • Yes, they are definately more expensive, but if your kids want to play with them then that should be okay. In my opinion. Just treat them how to handle them properly and take good care of them. If you'd prefer them play with the cheaper dolls now, then set the Bitty Babies aside for now until they're older. The American girl dolls and Bitty Babies are meant to be played with, even if they are super expensive.

  • If they are not new in the box then I wouldnt worry about value. I also dont think that you should give them and take them back. If you are worried then dont let them leave teh house with them.

  • they were in the box, my husband took them out and gave them to them. lol(: im not worried about value so much.. I dont plan on selling them ever or doing anything with them.. but they are just flopped around on the floor, and it makes me feel strange! i think ill stick them up on a shelf until they are older, and ill tell them they are special babies or something!
