  • Little bit of everything. All our meat is local (we buy the live animal from the farmer & bring it to the butcher, or DH hunts & butchers himself), in the summer almost all our produce is from the back yard or a farmers market, we don't have little local food shops so anything else I can't grow myself or buy from a local farmer I have to buy, but I'm picky about brands & do watch what countries some stuff comes from.

  • We buy whatever is cheapest so we can get more for our money. I don't particularly care where it comes from. With a family of 7 I can't be picky. Local grown stuff is usually twice the price of other stuff.

  • The vast amount of my grocery is done at:

The Farmer's Market (when in season)
    Local family owned small markets.
Asian markets and Middle Eastern Markets

I do go to Safeway/Freddies/WholeFoods for some items on a regular basis. However, that is not where I do the bulk of my shopping.

  • I shop at Woodman's which is an employee owned grocery store. It has everything you can imagine. Good prices and it's open 24 hours. It has an impressive ethnic food section and a decent organic food section.
