HELP! I need to think "outside the box!"

I have two daughters, 5 and 8. They have more than enough toys (even though we recently donated a bunch) and I know they will get a bunch more from family members for Christmas. I am trying to think of Christmas gifts that are age appropriate, but not a bunch of little toys. Any ideas?

  • Always learning items. I don't know I am having issues with the granddaughters. Someone mentioned a nice blanket on here.. I think I am getting them a nice one and have their names and dates embroidered on... I also thought about their own website... Creating one for them to maintain.. with this own domain names... just a thought...

  • We have a small apartment so I always ask for gift cards to a play place or class each year. He usally gets a few so a $200 class winds up free or at least half price. It gets him out of the house and its something he can look forward to for a few months.

I like to get the kids online subscriptions to play games like club penguin, Noggin so they will get the Nick Jr magazine or I just send them a magazine I think they will like, they def love getting a new one in the mail every month

They really like getting the cookie of the month and chocolate of the month too. Coming home from a bad day at school and seeing truffles makes them happy again lol

  • Books! You could also take them somewhere instead of giving them something. Ex, a movie, children's museum, to paint pottery, etc.

  • I wish I could afford to buy them a pony! Thanks for the good ideas, ladies!
