How do I get a VHS tape out of the VCR if it's in backwards??

I love my 3 yr old. She wanted to watch her favorite movie, so she decided to put it in by herself. Well, she put it in backwards, and now it won't come out.
Have any of you had to remove a tape from the VCR that's in backwards? How do I get it out?!?

  • My brother took apart the machine to get it out and then put the machine back together. BTW, I haven't heard of anyone having a VHS machine anymore.

  • People still have those? I have no clue never had that happen and it has been many years since we owned a VHS player.

  • LOL...yeah, we have one, because we have tons of classic Disney movies for our kids. Why pay $25 for a Disney DVD (when they grace you with the ability to buy them), when you can get the tapes at yard sales for $2 ?

  • Pick it up, hold it vertical, and shake it out. Yep, we have to do it frequently, though not from going in backwards, but because it won't push out an ejected tape. Yes, people still have VHS. My kids love their movies. We can't replace most of them, can't find them on DVD!
