Shower Drain

my drain is backed up, whats a good home remedy to un-clog it?

  • Open it up and take whatever's clogging it out.

    A drain snake is cheap to buy, and cheaper still to rent. Until you remove the clog (or make your landlord do it) you'll have recurring problems, no matter what you do.

    When it's been cleared, use a half-cup of baking soda and a full kettle of boiling water monthly to keep it clear of everything.

    Never pour grease or coffee grounds down a drain, and take the hair out of any drains it gets caught in (showers, sinks) regularly.

  • You can also try using a wire hanger to fish out the hair that's down there.

  • a plunger!!! it works. Fill the tub with a little water, than put the plunger over the drain, and plunge away =)
